Option Modes¶
OrcaSlicer provides four option visibility modes that control which configuration options are shown in the user interface. These modes hide complexity for new users while exposing advanced and experimental options for experienced users.

- Simple — Shows only essential settings for slicing. Ideal for beginners or when you want a quick, reliable setup.
- Advanced — Adds common fine-tuning options for users familiar with slicing concepts.
- Expert — Reveals experimental and advanced options that require a deeper understanding of the 3D printing process. Use these with care.
- Developer — Exposes every available setting, including hidden and developer-only options. Intended for developers and power users. Some options may be unstable or not fully tested; use with caution. To enable Developer mode, you need to open OrcaSlicer Preferences/Developer/Settings/Developer Mode.
NEW FEATURE: Expert Mode
Available in: Nightly builds or Releases greater than 2.3.2.
Note
When using Developer mode, the Mode selector will be disabled.
This is because Developer mode provides access to all options, and there is no need to switch between modes.
